		<description>It&#039;s kind of reminiscent of the Bystander Effect in social psych, whereby if there are many bystanders to an event, chances are that no one will react - for example, the more witnesses there are to somebody slipping and falling, the more likely it is that no one will offer to help. With so many subway passengers following their same pattern to work, taking the same route, accustomed to hearing &quot;beggars&quot; using their instrument to garner loose change, the few who clued in to any abnormalities of the situation (his immense skill and technical acuity) were dissuaded from reacting by the many who passed by. We mirror the reactions of the majority.
